About The
Farm
Since
1909
Unlike
many seed companies, we actually do live and work from a farm. We grow and
evaluate seeds on the
Dunton
Family Farm located in the beautiful Willamette
Valley of Oregon. This soil has sustained our family for five generations --
through world wars, "Victory Gardens",
global economic collapse, societal unrest, and natural disasters. We believe
that with proper stewardship, the farm will continue to provide sustenance for
generations to come.
Farm Visitation
At this time, we do not have the funds to
support necessary facility additions, the added liability insurance, or
extra staff required to accept and entertain visitors. In our long term plans, we
are hoping to grow to a point where we will be able to give tours,
classes, and support onsite sales. At this time, we offer our seeds
for sale both online and via our annual
mail order
catalog. We
appreciate your support and look forward to opening our facilities at some
future date. Until then, you can electronically "visit" our farm on
the web by
clicking here.
Our Farming Philosophy
We believe that we are to be good stewards of all that we
have been given responsibility over.1 It is obvious to
us that we cannot possess anything. We simply take care of it for our children -- as
our ancestors have done for us. On this basis we believe in
sustainable agriculture
and the use of non-chemical, natural, healthy farming practices. We
have chosen for our farm to become
Certified Naturally Grown.
