ATTENTION

Shipping for gum & candy is based on the total weight of your order.

The most economical route for most orders is the US Mail Priority Flat Rate with delivery confirmation. This will run $5.45 for small orders and $10.45 for larger orders.

For larger orders where shipping will be a lot higher, we will calculate the best rate and email you for your approval before we charge your card.

Note: Our shopping cart system is not smart enough to figure this out. So disregard the shipping estimate that it calculates.

1928 Dubble BubbleDubble Bubble is the world's first bubble gum.  It, and bubble gum for that matter, was invented in 1928 by a 23 year old Fleer Chewing Gum Company accountant named Walter E. Diemer (1904-1998). In an interview before his death, he explained,  "It was an accident. I was doing something else and ended up with something with bubbles."

1937 Dubble BubbleAlthough an accountant by trade, Mr. Deimer liked to experiment with gum recipes in his spare time.  In doing so, he accidentally stumbled upon a recipe that was totally unique.

1952 Dubble BubbleIt was less sticky than standard chewing gum yet stretched more easily.  He saw the possibilities and using a salt water taffy wrapping machine, wrapped one hundred pieces of the creation to test market in a local mom-and-pop candy store.  They sold out in one day priced at one penny a piece.

1973 Dubble BubbleFleer began marketing the new gum as "Dubble Bubble" and Diemer himself taught salesmen to blow bubbles.  This helped them to demonstrate how Dubble Bubble differed 1987 Dubble Bubblefrom all other chewing gums.

According to his wife, Walter Diemer never received royalties for his invention but he didn't mind.  He stayed with Fleer for decades, eventually reaching the position of senior vice president as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Fleer Corporation. He retired in 1970, but remained on the board for 15 more years.
