Early Scarlet Southern Pea (Cowpea)
75-85 days — 'Early Scarlet' is a determinate variety that produces pods at the top of their medium-sized, bush-type plants. At the green, mature stage, the pods are light-red in color, seven to nine inches long, and shell out easily. The peas have a light pink colored eye and are similar in color and size to 'Pinkeye Purple Hull BVR'.

It was bred at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and released in 1996. Each ounce is approximately 140 seeds.
