Fall
Season Spotlight Of all of the seasons, fall has always been my favorite. Perhaps it is due to my birthday being in September. Maybe it is because it signals the start of a period where nature rests. And then there are all of the annual events -- the start of a new school year, the holidays, the harvest. In any case, fall-time is wonderful. As I write this, our weather is in a state of instability. It has the weather forecasters totally confused. They predicted that it would be in the high 80s and sunny and it is cool, cloudy, and rained overnight! With all of the high tech tools at their disposal, nature still can only be estimated at best. We hope that your gardening season was enjoyable, productive, and that you are prepared for the winter season ahead of us. Please stop by the Web site from time to time. We are actively working on adding items for the holiday season. |
"New" Varieties in Production Last month we mentioned that we were working to bring new (old) varieties to our 2001 catalog offerings. Our season is a bit late so it is too early to tell you about those varieties. Check back to the site often as we are adding hard good items as well as seed varieties. Click here for a sneak peak at one exciting variety. Thank You We wish to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. As a small family business, we appreciate each of your orders, your feedback, and all of the word of mouth recommendations. Best of gardening success to you! Don't take our word for it. What others are saying about us. |
Not
Too Late to Plant In many parts of the country it is still gardening season. Many of our friends in the south continue to plant gardens.
For those of us with shorter and colder growing seasons, there are still gardening options. We just have to be a bit more creative if we want to enjoy fresh, homegrown produce in the winter.
One excellent resource for Pacific Northwester's is the book entitled, Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades: Steve Solomon's Complete Guide to Natural Gardening. It was written by the founder and original owner of the Territorial Seed Company and recently updated.
Check out the other titles that we recommend in our Barnes & Nobel Affiliate Bookstore. Past Issues |
