Welcome
to VictorySeeds.com We are working to save old plant varieties by keeping them available to home gardeners
Contact us to ask about special orders or hard to find varieties. Or, try our new seed swap and search page. |
Seed Preservation Work If you are one of our loyal supporters or have spent some time on the site, you know about our seed saving efforts. This season we have not only continued to grow and offer many varieties of hard to find seeds, we have actively started a renovation process that will result in a below ground, climate controlled seed room. This effort will allow us to create a seed bank on par with larger seed organizations and some small national ones as well. Calling All Seed Savers! We have put out this request in the past. This is a very important aspect to the success of our work and very integral to our seed saving and preservation efforts. If you are an experienced seed saver, know of one, or would like to learn, please contact us. We are seeking people who can grow seeds that are true to type (good genetic integrity), high quality, and organically produced. Please click here for more information about joining our growing network. |
Mail Irradiation Update As of 11/2/01, we are waiting to hear back from the U.S. Postal service regarding their intent of irradiating and potentially damaging our seed shipments in the process of making the mail safe from bioterrorism.
We are not alone in this concern. Shippers of plant and animal materials, magnetic media, and the photo / film industry are among others who will be affected if sensitive mail is subjected to the new electron beam machines.
Watch this space for updated information. Until the machines are installed and implemented, we will continue to ship via the U.S. Postal service. For small packages, it is still the most cost effective method.
If you prefer another shipping method, please contact us and let us know that you approve the added UPS shipping fees.

Your Support is Needed Small scale agriculture in this day and age is not a very profitable venture. Raising seeds for gardeners is even less so. And trying to preserve seed varieties by maintaining and growing out a seed bank is strictly a not-for-profit venture. That is o.k. with us as we are not driven by greed or the quest for money and possessions. It simply means that we must resort to non-conventional business methods. We are working towards creating a non-profit, educational organization to help further financially unprofitable projects. Please review our "Needs Page" to see if there are areas where you might be able to plug-in and help further this work. Thank You We wish to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. As a small organization, we appreciate each of your orders, your donations, your feedback, and all of the word of mouth recommendations. Best of gardening success to you! |
