We wish to take this opportunity to again thank you for your continued support. As a small organization, we appreciate each of your orders, your donations, your feedback, and all of the word of mouth recommendations.  It is through your support that we are able to accomplish all that we do.

Recent
News

Well we made it through another busy harvest and holiday season.  What a year it was.

Thanks to all of our gardening friends, word is getting out about the preservation work that we do and we continue to grow.

As seed sales grow, so to does our ability to increase the number of varieties that we are able to work with and ultimately offer to you.

You can find a listing of the new variety additions for 2004 by clicking here.

Support Opportunities

Your orders are the primary method by which we are able to keep this work moving.  Please review our "Needs Page" to see if there are areas where you might be able to plug-in and help further our preservation work.

Update

In the last edition of the newsletter we told you about our summer plans to start automating our sales and inventory processes as well as working to build our own in-house web server for a new online resource.  We are happy to announce that both of these goals were accomplished.

When looking at our online order system, as well as our new 2004 catalog, you will notice that part numbers have been added.  It will really help us speed up the order fulfillment process if you fill in these numbers on your order blanks when mailing or faxing in orders.  It is automatically done for web orders.  Our data entry person (Mom) thanks you.

2004 Catalog

At the time of this writing, the 2004 catalog is (finally) created and at the printer.  We expect that it will begin shipping the first week in January.  If you have purchased from us within the past two years, you are on the list.

If you would like a copy of the catalog, you may order one online or download a PDF copy by clicking here.

New Internet Resource

As and example of our commitment to preserving rare seed varieties, we are happy to announce a new online resource called the Victory Horticultural Portal.

As you already know, we are not a typical seed company. We are even quite different from most seed saving organizations.

Along with providing outstanding customer service and high quality seeds, we work towards a goal of historically accurate seeds.  That is, we grow out samples, compare to historical documentation, and select stock that matches the original descriptions.

A very important part of this work, therefore, is historical documentation. With the limited budgets that we have, purchasing old horticultural books, magazines, bulletins and seed catalogs is nearly out of the question.  (We are very grateful to receive donations or scans)

The Victory Horticultural Portal is a tool for sharing this type of information.  In an effort to be self-supporting, parts of the site are subscription based.  Much of the site is open to the public.  If you are interested in horticultural history, please drop by for a visit.
