A very narrow leaf, small, thick and
short plant. The flavor resembles 'Yara' tobacco and the cured
leaves have a distinctive scent.
Primarily used as
binders and fillers for cigars. 'Little Dutch' was once very
popular in the Miami Valley of Ohio, but has long been commercially
discarded, along with 'Seed Leaf'.
This pre-1880 variety is
thought to have originated in Germany.
