German Johnson Tomato

85 days, indeterminate — The regular leaf plants of 'German Johnson' grow tall and require staking or other support. We use tall baskets or the Florida weave method here on the farm. The beefsteak-type fruit are large (averaging about one pound), meaty, reddish-pink in color, and are mild but flavorful. They make a great slicing tomato for burgers and sandwiches. 'German Johnson' is reportedly one of the parents of 'Radiator Charlie's Mortgage Lifter'. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
