30 to 70 days — 'Shogoin' radishes are primarily used as a foliage crop for their mild flavored greens. The greens reach twelve to fifteen inches in height and remain tender. The roots can be eaten as well, are primarily shaped like an old-fashioned wooden top, are white fleshed, two to four inches in diameter, tender and mild flavored. The tops can be harvested for greens starting at about thirty days, and the roots at about seventy days.

Also known as 'Japanese Foliage' and 'Japanese Salad', they tend to thrive in hot, dry weather. Each packet contains 0.5 gram, which is approximately 125 seeds.

Planting Instructions: Choose a location with rich well-drained soil that receives six to eight hours of full sunlight per day. Loosen to a depth of one foot and rake smooth.

Plant seeds directly outdoors in as soon as soil can be worked. Plant ½ inch deep, ½ to one inch apart. Firm soil and keep moist until seedlings appear. When plants are 1½ tall, thin so that plants are two to three inches apart in rows spaced 18 inches apart.

Water as required and keep the soil cultivated to control weeds.
