Purple Dove

70 days — The bushes of 'Purple Dove' are a half-runner type variety but generally do not require support. The plants produce deep purple flowers and beautiful purple pods that are about five inches long. They have an excellent flavor, are stringless and turn green when cooked.

This is another of the many vegetable varieties developed by the late Robert Lobitz. Each packet contains one ounce, which is approximately 95 to 100 seeds. Very rare.

Excellent production
These grow excellent. Grow them just for fun if you want. Everyone will think you know what you are doing. Minimal insects. Use bean poles they say these are self supporting. Not so much. Turn green when cooked.

One of my favorite beans to grow!
One of my favorite beans to grow! I love the extra color the purple pods bring to my garden. The flavor is great too.

Really enjoyed these beans!
Really enjoyed these beans! They have a great flavor and the beans and foliage are very attractive. Even in the SC summer heat they kept going strong, right up to frost.
