Nicotiana alata
[ Approximately 100 seeds per packet ]

'Jasmine', also called "Winged Tobacco," is a compact, fast growing variety that is primarily grown as an ornamental although it is reportedly used in Iranian smoking blends.  It starts blooming as early as three weeks after transplanting into the garden.

The plants reach two to four feet in height and produce cascades of beautiful, sweet smelling, bright white flowers that last all summer long if you keep them dead-headed. Closing during the heat of the day, the flowers reopen in the late afternoon to fill the evening air with its amazing fragrance. It is also very attractive to Hummingbirds.
Easy to grow, heady scent and long blooming.
Jasmine tobacco is easy to grow and is quite at home in a 15-inch pot on the deck or patio. It is virtually pest free and needs very little care; just dead heading the spent blooms and the occasional watering.

Dusk brings out an abundance of lovely white blooms with an intoxicatingly sweet, though delicate, scent. It would make a nice addition to any moon garden. It's mid-October here in USDA Zone 5 and my Jasmine tobacco still covered with flowers. I will be growing it again.
