'Delcrest' is classified as a "
flue-cured" type tobacco and was historically used for cigarette blending. The plants grow to about forty inches tall when topped, or can reach six feet when allowed to develop its attractive pink flowers.
Its slightly puckered leaves are broadest at the middle and narrower at the two equal ends; typically twelve inches wide by twenty-nine inches long.
Our seed originated from USDA accession number PI 552306. The USDA commented that the seeds were originally introduced from Canada in 1961. Our seed stock is grown for us by David Pendergrass from Tennessee.
