Classified as a "Maryland-type
" tobacco, 'Moore' leaves are air-cured
like Burley-types, but darker green. It was historically used for pipe and cigarette blending as well as for cigars. The plants grows to about thirty-six inches tall when topped, five to six feet tall when allowed to develop its flower heads.
Its leaves are broadest at the middle and narrower at the two equal ends, but with the length being over twice the width. Typical leaves are eleven inches wide by twenty-six inches long.
Our seed originated from USDA accession number PI 552703 and is grown for us by David Pendergrass from Tennessee.
