Description
Ezonishiki

75 to 90 days, determinate — The plants grow twelve to twenty inches in height and have purple flowers. The medium-sized beans are pale yellow with a light brown saddle and contain about 19% oil and 43% protein.

The beans can be enjoyed either for edamame at about 75 days or dried after about 90 days.  Edamame is a popular snack in Japan, served with beer. Because it has health benefits that other snacks do not provide, it is becoming popular in the United States.

The parent stock was USDA accession number PI 379563. It was collected in Japan in 1973.  Each packet contains 25 to 30 seeds.
