Grignon 18
95 to 115 days, determinate — The plants are high yielding, reach twenty four inches tall, have purple flowers, and are lightly branched.  The beans are red-brown in color and contain 43% protein and 18% oil.

Although the USDA's GRIN database indicates that they received the variety from France, the original log book states that it was collected in Algeria (which had once been a French colony).  Regardless of where it was collected, the source of the seed is documented as being from N. Korsakov of the famous N. I. Vavilov Institute of Plant Industry, Leningrad, U.S.S.R. in 1979 and assigned accession number PI 438321.  Each packet contains 25 to 30 seeds.
