Midori Giant

75 to 100 days, determinate — The plants are productive, sturdy, erect, bushy, reach about two feet, and require no support. The crop matures very evenly for easy harvest. Pods contain two to three large soybeans each that are bright green at the edamame stage, drying to a pale yellow.

Suitable for most areas in the United States and Canada, it is a popular choice for both home and market gardeners. 'Midori Giant' is one of the most popular edamame (pronounced "ed-uh-mah-may") type soybean varieties (at about 75 days).  It is early maturing and a heavy producer. Each packet contains 0.5 ounce, which is approximately 45 to 50 seeds.

VERY drought resistant, grew well.
I bought this and another variety, and planted them in early summer (90-100 F) in Southern New Mexico. These did great! 'Midori Giant' also proved to be very drought resistant, and produced numerous pods nonetheless.

The first batch I planted along my fence, which has a northern exposure, but I also planted a second batch in an area that gets the full brunt of the scorching New Mexico sun all day. It did very well in both locations.

In summary, I highly recommend these to anyone looking/needing to grow drought and heat-resistant produce. It's hard to find such things, and I will definitely be buying and planting more this year.
