Sayamusume
68 to 100 days,
determinate
— The plants grow twenty four to thirty inches in height with pods containing two to four large, elongated beans that are light green color. 'Sayamusume' is a high yielding and tasty variety.
Harvest for
edamame after the beans have plumped and the pods have filled (at about 70 days), or dried after about 100 days.
Edamame
is a popular snack in Japan, often served with beer. Because it has health
benefits that other snacks do not provide, it is becoming popular in the
United States.
