Cucurbita pepo

85-95 days — Also known as "Thelma Sanders' Sweet Potato Squash." The vigorous vining plants of 'Thelma Sanders' produce high yields of creamy-orange colored acorn type squash. The thick flesh is golden orange in color and according to its namesake, "fine meated, better than sweet potatoes." The fruit are also a great winter storage variety.

Originally acquired by Seed Savers Exchange (SSE) of Decorah, Iowa in 1984 from SSE member and squash collector Tom Knoche of Ohio. Mr. Knoche had received the variety from Evert Pettit through the SSE Yearbook, who in turn had received the variety directly from Mrs. Thelma Sanders of Adair County, Missouri.

Each packet contains two grams, which is about 29 seeds.
