Marvelosa Certified Naturally Grown Seed

83 days, indeterminate — 'Marvelosa' is a good producer of medium sized (four to eight ounce), smooth, meaty, globular to slightly oblate fruits.  The fruits ripen uniformly and are very smooth even around the stem end. It was once very  popular with Southern truck growers.[2]

Bred by Fred J. Pritchard of the USDA as a stabilized cross between the now presumed extinct 'Marvel' and 'Ponderosa'. 'Marvelosa' was released in 1924.[1]

Our stock was grown out from seed originally obtained from the USDA back in 2003 (GRIN accession number PI 452002.) We rereleased it to the gardening public for the 2013 gardening season. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
