Sarnowski Polish Plum Certified Naturally Grown Seed

75 days, indeterminate — The plants have wispy, regular leaf foliage.  The fruits are five to eight ounces, red, and there is some variability in the shape of the fruits but they are mostly elongated with pointy blossom ends.  As you can see in the picture, they are very meaty with very few seeds.  Excellent flavor makes them great for sauces, processing, and fresh eating.

We received our original seed from Dr. Carolyn Male (NY MA C) who received the variety from Mike Sarnowski of Schenectady, New York whose ancestors brought it to the United States from Poland in the 1890s.  Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.

We're in love...
These tomatoes are easy to grow and absolutely delicious! I started them inside in March, had 100% germination and no problem transplanting them into my greenhouse in the spring. Sarnowski Plums are excellent raw, sliced on a pizza, or cooked down as a sauce. We will definitely be growing these again and again.
