Vulcan

75 days, indeterminate — The vigorously growing, regular leaf plants of 'Vulcan' produce globe-shaped, two to five ounce, red colored fruit that have a mild, classic red tomato flavor. Borne in clusters of four to six tomatoes, they slip from the vine when ripe, making them very easy to harvest. A nice multipurpose variety; equally suited for fresh eating as well as processing.

Bred by the Horticulture Experiment Station, Vineland Station, Ontario, Canada from a cross between 'V473' and 'Vetomold' and developed for fall forcing in greenhouses. Resistant to Races 1, 2, 5, 7, and 9 of Cladosporium fulvum.[1] Originally released in 1949, our seed stock originated as USDA accession number PI 279736, which was introduced into the USDA's collection on March 19, 1962. Each packet contains at least 20 seeds.
