Willamette Certified Naturally Grown Seed

70 days, determinate — The plants are medium small framed with medium foliage cover, four to seven ounce fruits that are red, unusually smooth, globe to deep globe shaped with small stem and blossom scars, good color and solidity.

Bred and introduced by Dr. William A. "Tex" Frazier of Oregon State University and released in 1964. 'Willamette' was selected and stabilized from a complex between three tomato varieties; ('Campbell Soup 10' x 'Pennheart') x 'Queens'.

Resistant to radial cracking. Adapted to the western valleys of the United States and Canada, New York, and Michigan. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.

My favorite tomato for 30 years
I first grew these as the main tomato in my garden in 1981. I have loved them ever since. They are a good, dependable all-purpose tomato. This variety is my favorite for fresh eating, sliced on sandwiches, made into salsa or just eaten out of hand. I also like to use this one for canning. Most are a good size to fit into a canning jar, and since they are determinate you will get a lot of them at once. I used to be able to buy Willamette tomato plants in the local nurseries but most quit carrying them. It was my search for Willamette tomato seeds that brought me to Victory Heirloom Seeds in the first place!
