Description
Zleovo Certified Naturally Grown Seed

90 days, indeterminate — The regular leaf plants of 'Zleovo' are productive. Its fruit is are small in size (weighing two to four ounces), red in color, globe-shaped, borne in clusters, and taste excellent.

While in the Peace Corps, 'Zleovo' was collected by Steve Neumann of Pueblo, Colorado in the small village of Zleovo, Macedonia, in what was once Yugoslavia. (It should be noted that the westernized spelling of the village's name is found as both "Zlevo" and "Zleovo.") He sent seeds to Dr. Carolyn Male in 2009 who subsequently offered them through SSE in 2011 and sent us a sample. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.

Produced well, even in a container.
Because of limited space I grow about 1/2 of my tomato plants in 5 gallon buckets. My 2014 growing season was short, with winter lingering into May and single digit temps arriving in October. I generally start my tomatoes from seed via the winter-sowing method, and that is how I started these for the 2014 season. I only grew one plant, located the container in the back of the garden (good sun, but a slightly cooler micro-climate) and put another tomato in the container with the Zleovo. Even with all the barriers I threw in this tomato's way (cool short summer, winter-sown, sharing a container), this tomato produced a plentiful crop. I did not find the flavor exceptional, but it was good, but since I cook and can a lot of tomatoes, a good tomato is a fine thing. I will certainly grow this one again. Only the fact that the flavor was not as good as I hoped stops me from giving it a 5 star rating.
