Shagbark Hickory Handled Three Tine Hand Cultivator
Similar in design to the classic "Three Tine Hand Cultivator
," but with a fifteen inch long handle (twenty two inches long overall),
this tool was built with raised bed gardening in mind. Each tool head
is individually and forged and the then married to the naturally
finished, “bark on,” ‘Shagbark Hickory’ handle using brass rivets.
Also known as a "Three Prong Cultivator," this elegant hand garden tool
is great for loosening your soil, upsetting weed seedlings, and
attacking rhizomeous weeds! It doubles as a back scratcher.
Tuli writes, "I build this lovely artistic interpretation of a hand rake completely by
hand from start to finish. The carefully bent side tines flare slightly
below the ferrule creating a beautiful, fleur-de-lis image. The solid
steel rivets are set horizontally to the direction of pressure providing
additional stability for the rake. The tines are great for
working with grasses and other weeds that have shallow, rhizomes or
runner-type growth. We always joke with customers that it doubles as a
back scratcher, but jokes aside we frequently use it for one ourselves!
The dimensions are approximately twenty two inches long by five inches wide.Note:
'Shagbark Hickory' (Carya ovata var. ovata

strength, toughness, and hardness of hickory is found in no other
commercial wood and is why it is prized as the perfect material for tool
