Large in size with a hard rind and sweet, rose colored flesh.

90 days — 'Garrisonian' watermelons are large in size with a hard rind and sweet, rose colored flesh. Well adapted for Southern and Eastern United States melon markets and ships well. It is also reportedly resistant to one form of anthracnose sunburn.[1]

'Garrisonian' is an open-pollinated variety developed by using classical breeding techniques to make a complex cross between several parents, one of which was an older variety called 'Garrison.' (If you are interested in its exact parentage, click on the "Reference Information" tab above.) It was bred by the USDA, Southeastern Vegetable Breeding Laboratory, Charleston, South Carolina and released in 1957.[1] Each packet contains two grams, which is approximately 20 seeds.
