The brush is gentle (will not damage tender kernels) and is easy to clean. The sturdy polyethylene bristles are three-sided, in a pyramid-shape, for scrubbing power.

The original design was as a surgeon's scrub brush and widely used in hospitals.  Can be easily cleaned by rinsing or in the top rack of your dishwasher as the material that they are made out of will not absorb dirt or water.
