Description
Long Green Improved
65 days — 'Long Green Improved' is a very old variety that was the most widely grown slicing and pickling variety for decades since its original introduction in 1842. It was bred as a selection of an even older variety, 'Long Green Turkey,' that dates back to prior to 1778.

It is a vigorous and dependable variety with dark green fruits that are ten to twelve inches long by two to three inches in diameter. Each packet contains one gram, which is approximately 25 to 30 seeds.

We only planted a 3' section of these and got about 2 dozen out of that little space! We've been pulling ripe cuc's for over a month now and they keep coming. We trellised ours -- so glad we did, they grew to the top of the 6' trellis and halfway down the other side, and about 6' over as well. Very delicious and fragrant cucumbers. Haven't had a single pest problem, either.
