Dwarf Giant (Burpee's) Certified Naturally Grown Seed

80 days, determinateRugose leaf, bush-type plant with oblate, pink fruit that weigh up to about ten ounces.  Introduced in 1909 by W. A. Burpee. It is the result of a cross between 'Ponderosa' and 'Dwarf Champion'.

In his 1911 book entitled, "Home Vegetable Gardening," garden writer F. F. Rockwell highly recommended 'Dwarf Giant'.  He said, "The fruits are tremendous in size and in quality unsurpassed by any. The vine is very healthy, strong and stocky. I believe this new tomato will become the standard main crop for the home garden. By all means try it. And that is a good deal to say for a novelty in its second year!"

Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.

Although the name of this variety contains a modern company's name, the seed we are offering is in no way sourced from, "owned by" or connected with that company. The name is simply the historically accurate, common name for the variety giving credit to the seedsman that originally released it.
